The thirteen companies that supported the alternate solution to the network encryption export control stalemate have formed the Alliance for Network Security (“ANS”). The mission of ANS is to work with the government to build upon these initial license approvals. Recognizing that “operator action” products are not ubiquitous, ANS also will work with other groups sharing ANS members’ conviction that any solution to remaining encryption export control issues must be market-driven as well as meet national security and law enforcement requirements.
